CAD/GIS Projects

In our CAD / GIS projects we use different graphic platforms: Bentley MicroStation, Geomedia, AutoCad, ArcInfo, GE Smallworld Core Spatial Technology, Geoinfo, Ewid2007, EWMAPA, or developed by us, in cooperation with Grontmij Geo Informatie, dgDialog system. We work on databases: MsAccess, Oracle, MsSQL Server, PostgreSQL. The scope of our elaborations includes digital mapping of different content: topohraphy, infrastructure and communication, utility networks, cadastre, arable lands, forest and water resources, geology; creation of databases and digital archiving of analog documentation. In the field of SIT / GIS databases for utility networks we had measured up with large projects for utility companies. Very good references from Dutch and German customers prove our competency in these tasks. Our offer also concerns topographic mapping and elaborations for mining industry, water management and environmental protection. In many projects we use our own solutions and customer tailored applications. This allows us to take up new challenges, but also helps our productivity and improves quality control processes.

Digital cadastral maps

This type of digital mapping projects has with us the longest history, starting from 1993, when one of the first in the country digital cadastral maps were done by our company. The following years many further digital cadastral projects (EGiB) were done by us. If working in different parts of the country, we also had to cope with a variety of graphic platforms and database systems. Projects in our system dgDialog also had its significant share in the market of digital cadastral maps.

Digital base maps, BDOT 500 and GESUT

Also having our long tradition, there is creation of dgital base maps, first as vector maps, now as objects maps and fully database elaborations. The current legal status is imposed by creating databases of topographic objects on scales from 1: 500 to 1: 5 000, ie. BDOT 500 and creation of  databases for utility networks (GESUT). We perform them, depending on the type of project, on the basis of data from geodetical documentation or through vectorization on the raster of scanned analogue maps. In our projects we use graphic platforms of Autodesk, Bentley, whether dgDialog. Possessing skills to deal with the exchange of data between different CAD / GIS, they are no barriers  for us to carry out tasks in other graphic environments too, such as Geoinfo, TurboEWID or EWMAPA.

GIS projects for utility networks

Starting from 1997, we have participated in GIS projects concerning data capturing for utility networks. We have performed our works on the basis of industry-specific applications, mainly in GIS GE Smallworld Core Spatial Technology. First, the huge data capture projects for Dutch water companies we did in cooperation with Grontmij Geo Informatie. At the same GIS environment we performed two projects for heating systems in cities Łódź and Warsaw. A few years later, in cooperation with ESN, we did a couple of projects for German customers in terms of water supply, sewage, electricity, gas and telecommunications networks. Also for a German customer we completed a major project for energy networks in the application SISNET under Bentley MicroStation.

All of these projects were tasks that required considerable organizational effort and engaged large staff potential. Strict quality criteria, defined by foreign customers, determined the technology, focused on effective quality control system. We met these requirements. Satisfaction for us was the high evaluation of our work by foreign customers. Acquired experience paid off in subsequent domestic projects, related to the creation of databases for geodetic records of public utilities (GESUT).

Creation of digital topographic maps

Topographic maps contain elements of geographical environment of the Earth surface with their spatial relationships, and they hold: buildings, structures, land use complexes, water networks, communications, utilities, protected areas, territorial units. They are created in scales from 1:10 000 to 1: 100 000. Digital topographic databases are widely applied in civilian and military tasks, and each of these uses has its own specifics. 

Both types of topographic databases, alike in the component TOPO and KARTO, are carried out by our company. GIS platform of Geomedia is used by us in creation of topographic database projects.

  • Updating of military vector maps VMap level 2 in 1:50 000 scale for areas of the region of Opole and Lower Silesia (2014-2015)
  • Completing and updating of existing files of Topographic Data Base and adjusting them to compulsory structures for the part of Silesia Province (2012-2013)
  • Topographic Database (TBD) for full classes or subclasses of database for the part of Silesia Province (2011-2012)
  • Topographic Database (TBD) for land cover complexes, network utilities, land-use complexes, buildings and structures for the part of Silesia Province (2010-2011)
 

Other CAD / GIS projects

Digital mapping and database elaborations constitute a wide spectrum of possibilities in various areas of economy. The proper places for such solutions are those areas where geographical space and spatial location of objects or events are points of interest.

These are the issues and challenges that suits us very much. Thanks to the implementation of various CAD / GIS projects we have gained experiences and knowledge of different graphic platforms and data exchange standards. Another advantage is, that we can base on our own IT staff in such diverse tasks.

On other, than surveying, thematic spheres, we have created geographical databases for mining and geology in Autodesk Civil and Geolisp systems. We have also worked for analysis of water economy and environmental protection in ArcGIS. In the range of small projects we have created "mini-GIS" for cemetery management in dgDialog system.

One could multiply topics and a variety of possibilities for potential use of Geographical Information Systems. To seek such solutions and tasks we highly encourage our customers.

Digitization and archiving of analog documentation

Modernization process of local state administration through programs: e-Administration, e-Office or e-services, in fact, is an investment into public access to information and into customer services by internet. These are the burning issues for now and for coming years in Poland, especially in view of the EU budget for 2014-2020. Great fit in with all these tasks are digital and database projects and digital archiving of geodetic and cartographic resources at County Offices and Municipalities. The digitization of these resources, in which scanning of all documents is combined with digital graphical information, giving them its spatial values, it is a task that will appreciate both the staff of administration offices and their customers. This kind of work is gaining momentum, it has also recently been standardized by law.

This assortment is not unknown to us. One can imagine, that many institutions and offices also encounter with documentation archives. A topic, that is so timely in geodetic and cartographic branch, may well be adopted in other areas of the economy too.
